FAQ

Q: Incidence of nappy rash amongst babies?

The frequency of nappy rash is in fact quite high: it is still the main skin condition for which parents consult pediatricians. For babies under one year the frequency range from 30% to 50%. Until the time babies stop to use nappies (until about 3 years) almost all babies will have had an episode of nappy rash. Those episodes last about 4 to 7 days when treated with an ointment. But the current recommendation is also to try to prevent nappy rash by using ointment preventively at each nappy change.

Q: Average no. of times, a nappy rash cream is applied on a baby, per day basis?

In average nappies are changed 4 times a day.

Q: Average volume of nappy rash cream (in grams) that is applied each time on a baby?

The quantity of Bepanthen® Ointment to be used is approximately (depends on baby size) 3g at each nappy change (corresponding approximately to the volume of two hazelnuts).
