Bepanthen® Ointment

'Everyday care and protection from the causes of nappy rash'

What is Bepanthen®?

Your baby's skin is very absorbent and sensitive, therefore it needs a safe, gentle product to care for and protect it. Bepanthen® is so gentle it can be used at every nappy change. Bepanthen can even be used on the highly sensitive skin of premature babies as it contains no fragrances, preservatives, colours or antiseptics.

How does it work?

Bepanthen® Ointment works in 2 ways to protect and care from the causes of nappy rash:

Bepanthen® Protects

Bepanthen works by forming a transparent, breathable layer, helping to protect even the most delicate skins from irritants and rubbing. Bepanthen is so gentle it can be used at every nappy change to help the most sensitive of skins.

Bepanthen® Cares

Bepanthen® contains Provitamin B5 which has hydrating and soothing effects on the skin and helps the skin repair its natural protective barrier. Bepanthen® is free from perfumes, preservatives and antiseptics.

How should I use it?

As Margaret Merrigan Feenan (Clinical Midwife) says “Prevention is better than cure”. The aim of prevention is to reinforce and support the skin barrier and this starts with good skincare at nappy changing.

Change nappies regularly, wash and dry the skin thoroughly, allow air at the skin and avoid tight nappies, clothes and plastic pants. It is recommended to  apply a thin layer of Bepanthen barrier ointment on clean dry skin at every nappy change. It will act as a barrier to the skin and it forms a breathable layer, keeping your baby’s bum healthy and hydrated.

If nappy rash occurs Bepanthen contains Provitamin B5 which gently aids the irritated skin to recover and the lanolin will protect it from wetness and friction while keeping it moisturized.
